Last night on the island. Played soccer on the beach today, swam with the sharks (not literally), made new dog friends: Chester, buster, bean, Rufus, snowball, oh and tiko. Yes I’ve named each one. Pulled about 20 bottles out of the water, stupid tourists! They come to see pretty beaches and destroy it with their trash. Ash and I are about to share our last street creepe. Then tomorrow were off to Bangkok. Got an email warning me that Bangkok is flooded and will be pouring all week, the power keeps going out and some flights are cancelled. Just quite the news I prefer before my flight. Hopefully I’m stuck here, seeing that hotel beds are better then ashleys couch;) but I have only a nickel left so maybe it’s best if I get the heck out of here. On my plane with free food and wine! Hope to see y’all soon xo

This lovely trip is coming to an end, and I could be any less enthused:( this island has been amazing to us. We laid on the beach today with a nice cool breeze and overcast skies. Which helped cleared away some sun soaking tourists. We spoiled ourselves with pedicures along the shore and hour long Thai massages. Total $11. Quite the splurge on our budget. Tonight we enjoyed some street noodle soup and an amazing fire show on the beach. Then finished up with a reggae bar for some music and beer (singular because ash and I split one, being almost $3) ha. Officially out of funds but returning home by the end of the week. Crazy how fast this trip had come to an end. Can’t wait to come back again. Hopefully another backpacking trip including malaysia and china with bubs someday soon. Xoxo tata for now!

Oh Thailand;)
Crisis averted! Ash and I switched our jungle tour with another couple with a shorter trip and in return they gave us $100. It was like fait, now i can travel for at least another week:) … So the Gibbon Experience was 2 days instead of 3. Almost better I believe now that I am exhausted. We started yesterday morning with an amazing group of 8 with a 5 hour hike. Not going to lie that Was a bit of a killer. But the beautiful jungle and cool air made it to be an amzing time. After a few hours of hiking up in between hiking to our tree house for the night, we go to zipline. What can I say, it was the most amazing experience ever. Scared at first and then there wernt enough ziplines, long enough ones, or steap enough.. Ha. Strap on the harness Attach yourself and there you go. rushing through the wind 1000ft off the ground, and mountains for days all around. SO beautiful! I learned the more you lean back and lift your legs the faster you go, which made for a very hard landing when I almost ran into the trees haha. But if you go to slow you dont quite make it and have to pull your self in like tom cruise in mission impossible (as we called it). So do the james dean cool lean. After about 10 zip lines. WE made it to our treehouse about 200 feet up. right when we arrived it started pouring for perfect timing. the tree house was 3 stories. Ash and I got the top floor to ourselves. the middle floor had our kitchen area and more beds. and the bottom floor ahd a toilet (whole in the mid sky ground) and a shower. Yes a beautiful cool shower out in the open with views for miles of mountains. Our tree house was equiped with beds blankets pillows and misquito nets. Hard to sleep though with the rain and wind keeping us up. We had delicious food constantly served to us which consisted of rice and veggies, candies and fruits, coffee and tea. Oh ya and whiskey. I had such a wonderful time. We did a few more ziplines for the rest of the day yesterday. And a bunch more today as we made our way back down the mountain. We ended the trip eating lunch along the river on top of large palm tree leaves for tables. Then an hour of off roading sitting in the tail bed of a toyota tacoma. It made for quite a bumpy ride. Sorry for the rushed description of my journey through the jungle but I am quite exhausted now. Leaving for Thailand in the morning. Miss yall xoxox

Chillen like a Gibbon
Not a pitty update but just so you guys can follow along the real backpackers journal. I officially ran out of money haha. I have $20 in the bank but it cost $10 for a international atm fee. Spent my last $1 on a sandwich from the street. Yes it had Ants but now im full :) Ash and I are staying in a cheap room but weirdly nice for $2.50 each. Wish we budgeted this way from the beggining. The next 3 days were going on a jungle tour with treehouse (room) accomodation and food and a bus ticket to Thailand. So im good till then. Couldnt even fly home early if I wanted (change of flight over $100) lol.. Not a cry for help though, just the everyday situation of a backpacker i presume.
Early risers this morning.. at 440 I woke Ashley up to see the Monks morning ritual of food offerings. At 5am we set out to find the hotel locked us in and determined to get out we found the house keeper with a key. Lost in the darkness of the morning we asked villagers where to go. The power went out again and the morning fog made everything seem about eerie. Sitting around for awhile we realized the ritual wasnt until 6am as we saw everyone heading one way, we finally realized whew to go. Many locals and visitors lined the road for about a mile handing out food offerings to the monks as the walked along. Ash and I got to buy food to hand out. She gave little bananas and I made little rice balls with my basket of rice. Seemed kind of dirty to put rice in a basket full of packaged goods and money. As the monks collect one sides goods the turn around and hand to a kid with an empty basket. Kind of like taking from the rich and giving to the poor. If we knew in advance we would of bought a bunch of goodies from the market beforehand. The kids with the empty baskets now had full have baskets full of money and goodies and plenty of food. With happy faces they headed home. Im amazed that every morning hundreds of people set up food at 5am for this ritual. It felt so good to pass food along and take part in the monks morning ritual.. Many locals took our picture, being one of the few Americans taking part. After what seemed to be 1000 monks passed, we were out of food and headed back to bed by 630. Yvette still a sleeping babe woke up and left us for Thailand today:( Wont have internet for a week but my prayers are out there for everyone deployed overseas recently. My heart is with yours.. xoxo

Monk Offerings
Oh, how dangerous the night market! We ate the best street food;) coconut rice cakes wrapped in banana leaves and pastries for desert. For dinner we payed a dollar for endless noodles. Yvie had a huge fried fish on a stick. Down the tightly squeezed alley it started to pour. Separated from Yvette the power went out and become pitch black… Were alive now on our tummies are very happy;) waking up at 430am for the monk morning ritual.. Sweetdreams home
